How do you know what your cat is trying to tell you? Do you always understand what your furry friend is trying to tell you? Here is a quick guide on what to look out for depending on their mood.
Meow: your cat may be greeting you or telling you they want more food.
Purring: this is a sign of contempt; your cat is happy whilst they are eating or even whilst you are patting them.
Growling or hissing: your cat is annoyed or angry. Leave them alone to calm.
Ears: if they are forward they are alert and interested in their food or toys. If they are backwards, they are frightened and want to be left alone.
Eyes: Are your cat’s pupils constricted? This means they are aggressive. If they are dilated they may be playful or nervous.
Tail: if your furry friends tail is erect and flat, they are happy and alert. If it is held very low or between their legs they are frightened.
Back: If they are lying on their back they are very relaxed. If their back is arched they are welcoming you to touch and pet them.
